During her many years at Walt Disney Imagineering, Ms. Jupiter lead teams in developing and creating the next generation of award-winning immersive experiences and attractions for the Walt Disney theme parks. She began her Disney career as an intern and worked her way up to Executive Creative Producer, Executive Visual FX Supervisor and Experience Designer for attractions in every corner of the Disney globe including Jim Henson’s MuppetVison 3D at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland parks; The Magic Lamp Theatre atTokyo DisneySea; and Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure at Shanghai Disneyland. The Pirates attraction won Ms. Jupiter and her teams the prestigious VES Award from the Visual FX Society for Outstanding Visual FX in a Special Venue. Jupiter and her teams were nominated the next year for two attractions in the same category. While James Cameron’s Avatar: Flight of Passage took home the award, making Jupiter a back-to-back winner at the VES awards, she is most proud of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout for its unexpected transformation from its roots as the beloved Tower of Terror attraction on which she had worked on earlier in her career. These two attractions also won Jupiter and her teams THEA Awards for Outstanding Attractions in 2017 and 2018.
Ms. Jupiter believes that one cannot learn everything one needs to know about film making from one place and ventured out into the world of Visual Effects working with Jim Cameron at his start up VFX company Digital Domain. She was the technology and digital producer for the THEA award winning attraction T23D: Battle Across Time for Universal Studios. During her tenure at the company, she also produced the visual effects for Kathryn Bigelow’s, Strange Days.
Moving back to her native New York City, she became the Executive Producer and Executive Visual Effects Supervisor for Blue Sky Studios as they grew and began their partnership with 20th Century Fox leading up to the creation and funding of the Ice Age franchise.
As her interest in Feature Animation grew and before once again returning to Walt Disney Imagineering, Amy was the Co-Producer on Sony Pictures Animation’s first $100mm animated feature, Open Season. She also produced the direct-to-consumer sequel as Sony pursued an alternative business model and production strategy by employing a distributed international production model and training and opening a studio in Chennai, India.
Leading up to and through the 2020 Pandemic, Ms. Jupiter and her team at WDI took on the design, creation and production of the real-time, interactive game media for Web Slingers: A Spider-man Adventure now open at the Avengers Campuses at both Disney’s California Adventure and Disneyland Paris. Always pushing boundaries in immersive storytelling, Ms. Jupiter and her company, By Jove, most recently worked with theme park legend, Joe Rohde for Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic as a Creative Producer and Experience Architect.
